  Northern resort is located on the lovely bearskin bike trail, an inviting and gorgeous place to walk, bike or take a run. Out the other door I'd the fabulous lake Minocqua. Northern is in a quiet bay next to a channel between lakes. Great boat docks, ski show across the water.

  HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! If I could give 0 stars that would be more appropriate. I booked a condo six months in advance. My husband paid in full a month prior to our arrival date. We traveled cross country with 3 kids under 5 with the expectation that we would have a place to stay upon arrival. These fools took the money, but failed to give us the information so that we could get into the home...i.e, a garage door code, key to the house, etc (you know, simple items that should be available for you to enter a home that you paid a lot of money for.) We tried relentlessly to get in touch with them, even leaving numerous phone messages with the owner. We tried to get in contact with these fools for a week prior to our departure with no answer from anyone. All we wanted was a simple key to the house... Anyway, I left several messages for the owner. He never got back to me! However, please note that after my husband called and left a message the owner called back with in 15 minutes. Not only is that offensive, but it is down right sexist. Sounds like ol boy is terrified of women, but I digress. Whatever you do, do not rent from these people. They don't have any idea what they are doing and they don't know how to run a business. Not exactly Johnny on the spot kind of people. Too much incompetency for a much needed vacation on our end. Never Again!!! To make matters worse, we had to book a room at the Quality Inn in Minocqua because we had no place to stay upon arrival. I'm still trying to get a refund for that night. Whatever you do go elsewhere. It's just not worth the incompetency they exude. Please note that the condo was amazing. The rental group was the problem. We would rent the property again, but never through these fools.

  Nice clean cabins. Kitchens are well equipped. Playground is great for the kids and the beach is nice too. Having pontoon rentals & firewood there is also convenient. Laundry is also available so we didn't have to pack so much. It's so nice to have the walking trail go right by the resort. It's probably only a half mile walk to town. The walk is fun too as you get to cross two railroad bridges. If you're looking for more exercise just hang a left on the trail instead of a right toward town. The trail is also for bicycles but a pass must be purchased.
